How do the Toursticks Golf Alignment Sticks work?
Toursticks help with swing and stroke practice and putting. Many tour players use Toursticks to warm up before a tournament and check their setup and alignment on the range.
Practice options for the Toursticks:
Alignment
At address, your entire body (feet, knees, hips, shoulders and eyes) should be parallel to the target. To work on your alignment, place the Toursticks on the ground parallel to your imaginary target line. This will create a target line along which the ball should travel.
Ball position
The ball position depends on many factors
If you play the short irons, the ball will be in the middle
With the medium irons the ball is offset in front
With long irons and fairway woods the ball is about 2 balls forward from the centre
When hitting with the driver the ball is furthest forward
The tour sticks can help you find the correct position by placing the tour sticks in a T underneath you. One tour stick parallel to the target line, the other stick perpendicular to it. Now you can read exactly where the ball is and make any necessary corrections.
Aiming/goal kick
The goal shot exercise is ideal for checking whether the ball starts on the target line in the correct target corridor. Put the Toursticks in the ground at a distance of about 3 meters in front of the goal and at a distance of 15-25 cm from each other. The goal should be aligned with the target. The goal is to launch all the balls between the tour sticks.
Straight putting
Place the tour sticks parallel on the ground - facing out towards the target. The distance between the two sticks should be only slightly more than the size of the putter head. Now place a golf ball centrally between the tour sticks. Try not to touch the tour sticks either in the backswing or in the follow-through. This way you can check whether you are putting exactly straight.
Putting in an arc
As with the straight putting exercise, the arc putting exercise is for correcting and improving your arc putting. To do this, place the tour sticks on the ground at a distance of about 30 cm and try to execute the putting motion within this corridor.
Correcting the swing plane
Often the swing plane and thus the entire swing is not correct. With the Toursticks you can limit the swing plane in the backswing and follow-through area and get immediate feedback when you touch the sticks that the swing plane is not correct.
The Toursticks are available in five different coloursand are always packed to 2 pieces in a plastic tube.
