REDESIGNED FOR FORGIVENESS
To optimize MOI and POI, mass was distributed
more symmetrically around the center of gravity
and across the three main axes and compacted around the center of gravity
to minimize the club's diagonal resistance to
rotation. Using AI-driven simulation tools, Cobra engineers
studied millions of impact locations
to gain a deep understanding of the gear effect
and to determine the optimal placement of
metal/mass and movable weights in each model.

THE FIRST CLUBS TO OPTIMIZE POI FOR
STRAIGHTER MISSES
Until now, MOI was the primary metric that
companies focused on to optimize club stability and
forgiveness. Cobra is the first company to discuss
a lesser-known metric called POI, which considers club rotation
across all three axes (MOI,Y (horizontal), MOI,X (vertical)
and MOI,Z (toe up or down))
that occurs on off-center hits.
OPTM drivers are the first to optimize both
MOI and POI through strategic weight distribution
and shaping to create a super driver – one that
drastically reduces the gear effect and delivers up to
23% tighter dispersion for longer and straighter
off-center hits.

THE FIRST 13K DRIVER
Cobra took their highest MOI driver and
paired it with a lower POI to create the first 13K driver and
the most stable driver in golf. The 13K MOI value is
achieved by combining the 10K MOI values across the
2 horizontal (MOIyy) and vertical (MOIxx)
axes with the 3rd diagonal axis (MOIzz). Using
supercomputers and AI methods, Cobra engineers
created a harmonious design that is difficult to
achieve by maximizing MOI and reducing POI (by
over 50%). The result is a dramatic reduction in
sidespin on off-center hits for straighter and
more accurate drives that start and
end closer to your target line. Compared to the DS-ADAPT MAX-K, the
OPTM MAX-K delivered 0.5 more strokes and 82% more playable
drives per round.
